We do like to be beside the seaside…
Staff have trained to run a ‘Beach School’ because we value living in a seaside town and we want the children to engage in it too.
We have a chalet at the South Bay which we use as a base for activities such as rock-pool hunts, paddling in the sea and sandcastle building.
The children learn about safety by the sea and conservation issues affecting our planet.
All of the children visit the beach for Shrove Tuesday to enjoy the ‘Skipping Day’ traditions of Scarborough and during the school summer holidays.
Our Pre-School children visit regularly. After a morning of play and learning they enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to the nursery with stories to tell and beach treasures to share!
